If you click on the “Vehicles” tab at the top of our website, you’ll notice there are two options for shopping pre-loved vehicles. You can look at our used inventory or our certified pre-owned inventory.

So, you ask, what’s the difference?

Our used inventory is made up for several brands. Used Fords are going to be the bulk of the vehicles, but you’ll also see competitors in there from people trading-in.

If you look at our Certified Pre-Owned Ford inventory page you’ll only see Ford models. Specifically, Ford models that have earned the CPO designation. To get the title, used vehicles must meet a strict set of guidelines:

• Cannot be more than 5 model years old
• Must have less than 80,000 miles
• Cannot have been in a serious accident
• Must pass a rigorous 172-point inspection by a Ford technician

Once the vehicles have check off all the boxes and gotten the “Certified Pre-Owned” label, owners who purchase them get additional perks. There is a 1-year comprehensive limited warranty, a 7-year powertrain warranty, and 24-hour roadside assistance that helps with costs for alternative transportation and lodging.

Unlike many dealerships, at Franklin Ford we have a large selection of CPO Ford models. In fact, most of the ones under our “used inventory” are actually CPO! While these may cost more than your standard used vehicle, the additional benefits and coverage are worth far more than the difference and they give added peace of mind.
